Its a PCI card. My motherboard only has 1 slot to try it =/. How can i check to see what kind of soundcards are compatible with my motherboard?

When you first installed it, did Win-7 give any indication at all that it was recognized?

p.s. do you have any other PCI slots used by other hardware?

Well after i put it into my motherboard, i turned on and then windows said it was trying to detect the driver, so it led me to the download link to download it. After downloading, i tried to install but got that error; nope. i do not have any other PCI slots used by other hardware. This is the only thing i ever putted inside my computer since i bought it.
    p.s.
When i check device manager, under Other Devices, it lists Multimedia Audio Controller which has the yellow triangle "!" sign. When i check its properties, it says "the drivers for this device are not installed." Not sure if this has something to do w/ it or not. and it leads to the same download link as when i tried to install the sound card. So i guess it does has to do something with it.

you need to identify what brand/type of sound card you have, and refer to the brand website to download the drivers

Ok... well, I guess it's just a matter of finding the right driver.

    This is your card, correct?

@Aphelion: yeah. Thanks for your help. I finally found the issue. Because windows detected it as X-fi Xtreme Audio, i believed it and decided to dl those drivers. After i decided that these didnt work, i thought to myself that this must not be the right sound card. So i decided to recheck how my sound card looked like and now it matched the x-fi xtremegamer. I dl the most recent drive and now it works! Thanks for all your help once again!
