Too bad ! I just finished reinstalling my OS, that problem has drained every bit of patience I had. But oh well, I'm sure that'll prove useful to some other people. And many thanks to altamash and everyone else who helped btw.

Anyhow, everything is fine now, I needed a fresh start anyways. So yeah, solved !

Click tools > Optimization for Windows Vista

It should open a dialog box saying that optimization for windows vista is already done/present and will ask you if you want to remove it. The remove text is misspelled as remote (it will read as 'do you want remote optimization'). I clicked yes and my speaker icon in taskbar changed to 'removed' status and when i put my mouse cursor on it, it said 'sound system not available' or something. It returned back to normal soon followed by a confirmation from packetix client that optimization was removed.

I ran my 720p mkv movie that i had problems with and now its running fine. I hope this helps those of you facing similar problem. Glad i found an easy fix. I'll proceed with uninstalling packetix again as their speed is slow anyways comparing other free vpns.

Also i want to thank Bishooni for bringing the attention to the audio/video optimization. Seriously i had almost given up till i found your thread. I hope this fixes the problem for you aswell.

Hello Everyone,

I have the same problem. Packetix optimization for vista screwed my audio. I tried removing the optimization as stated previously but the glitch still exists.

Do I need to uninstall/reinstall or something? Please help.

after removing the optimizations, if the glitch still exits, try uninstalling and reinstalling your audio drivers. Although simply removing the optimization from packetix did the trick for me

Great, I got it today

I resolved this hately problem today:

1. Run the PacketiX as system administrator(right key click on the software link or file)
2. Tools->Optimization for windows vista...
3. Remove it, may be there is a wrong word(revote), go on and wait for the successful notice, and try your player again, does it work well?
