I liked MMJB, and bought the lifetime upgrade. In fact, I still have an installer for it around here somewhere. I think the closest thing out there to it, right now, would be Songbird...which is basically Firefox for music.

Of course, these days, I just use WMP...don't need all the fancy skins and whatnot, and I do all my mp3 tagging myself.

Never tried MMJB....I use MediaMonkey Gold for my tunes. I don't actually listen with the computer that often.....I use it to aggregate my podcasts, and load tunes/podcasts onto my three mp3 players, for the most part.

foobar?

And would that be better than QuuxPlayer because after reading what quux was in that link...it said it didn't need any add-ons and has an awesome equalizer.

So who's the runner up, would you guys say? And of course I'm talking free programs. please do not regard the sound card since this will not change on my laptop - its integrated.

Are the runner ups Quuxplayer and foobar? i think so far it's Quux and something else. Also I am just talking about how good you can make a song sound, with equalizers and stuff like that, disregarding other features like showing album thumbnails and stuff like that.

Sound is a quite subjective thing. I would just try them out and see which one you like best.

Because, when and where I can help it, and when I find out, I do not support the views of individuals who share the views this developer does. I don't care how good a product is. Free or otherwise.

Media Monkey is excellent, with powerful tagging capabilities as well.

The only downside to it is it takes a bit of customizing things to get it the way you want it. Out of the box its OK, but not great.

But after you set it up to your preferences, one of the best IMHO.

And it has a 10-band equalizer, although I couldn't really say how well it works.....my speakers and the headphones I plug in don't really need EQ.

Thanks for the reminder noobvious.

After some recent work on Foobar2000.

It synchs Ipod and podcasts properly (with add-on), as well as being portable and a nice EQ.
I still suggest this one.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. What I need is an easy to use editing program that works on 64 bit. Free would be better but I would pay for one if it's the better one. I'm fixing to start converting some of my vinyl to CD.
