Sorry for the double post,

I read that system restore was supposed to show some sort of status bar as it is going? Well my monitor is black and has been for over an hour now....is this normal? I did not restore too far back...

EDIT: The num lock light shows on my keyboard, but when I push the num lock button, nothing happens...I'm assuming the computer is stuck and I do not know what to do...

I had to cold kill it, manually shutting off the computer. Turned it on and apparently it works now haha. I have sound to, so now I will get norton instead of McAfee and update the ethernet thing? Will I need to update this driver again do you think?

If it's working I would leave well enough alone.

And no System Restore isn't supposed to take that long.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Personally I wouldn't install either of them. Also I wouldn't be surprised it was McAfee that caused SR to act like that (and from what I have seen Norton can have the same kind of affect).

What then would you suggest?

Now that is a loaded question. As good a place to start as any,

What's the Best Anti-virus?

What to look for in a AV as well as links to tests between the more popular ones.
