Satellite L300D Emitting High Frequency Sound Constantly

My laptop is in perfect condition. I haven't dropped it ever and I haven't even downloaded anything for a couple days now. Today when I turned on my satellite L300D, it started emitting a high frequency sound and as I am typing this right now I am still hearing it. How do I make the sound stop coming? The sound is coming from the "spine" of the laptop where the screen and keyboard are connected.

I have already tried removing the battery for a while and then putting it back in, nothing changed. I also tried using my laptop without the battery while it's plugged in but still nothing.

What I did find was that when I adjust my screen brightness, the sound either gets louder (if I increase the screen brightness) or quieter (if I decrease the screen brightness). Even with the screen being as dark as can be, I still hear the sound.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Uhm this is really wierd but anyways problem fixed. I pretty much started hitting/slapping the part of my laptop that was emitting the noise and then it was fixed.

It's the inverter for the flourescent tubes that illuminate the screen.

I'ts rather normal to hear them occasionally (if you have young ears) or if you listen closely.

It sounds like something related to the inversters has maybe come loose or something (the case maybe) is lightly pressing on the circuitry. Since they run at high frequency they vibrate, if anything touches the components or of the components are lose at all the sound can be amplified.

I'm afraid that the only way to fix it is to take the laptop apart part way and try gluing the components down with proper insulating glue to stop it, or have the inverters replaced, or something like that

Ooops, too late.

Heh sounds like there may be a part of the case that is /just barely/ pressing against some of the inverter section, amplifying the sound.

Hopefully it wont require constant smacking
