Sigmatel 92XX Stereo Mix Windows 7

Just wanted to drop a lil bit of info and get some other people to test this.

After looking online for a while i couldnt find any method for me that could get stereo mix on windows 7 x64.

After a lil bit of testing i found a pretty easy way to get the driver to work with stereo mix on both x86,x64 windows 7.

This is mainly for people that dont have native support for there system in windows 7

First depending on your system download the x86 or x64 windows xp sound card driver not the vista one. Run the installer in windows xp compatibility mode and there you go when u restart should now have stereo mix

note for x64 u might get a error if u do just restart and if gives u problems just reinstall driver.and dont forget to make sure disabled/unavailable devices can be seen

Now this worked for me i just want to ask if anybody can try this to see if works on all sigmatel or not.

Y this works idk. I suspect that the xp driver escapes the whole windows anti-piracy disable stereo mix for vista and 7.

Not all SigmaTel (now called IDT) drivers for Win 7 exclude the System Mixer. I have an Intel DP35DP motherboard with the SigmaTel audio. In Vista the SigmaTel driver did not have the System Mixer. When I upgraded to Win 7 the only driver that was available was the Vista driver and thus no System Mixer. Shortly after Win 7 came out, Intel had a Win 7 driver available - an "IDT" driver and it DOES have the System Mixer function.

I don't use the Integrated Audio, I have a separate SoundBlaster card that does have that function.

Thats vista i already know vista has no stereo mix. My own vista drivers for sigmatel vista x86 driver didnt have stereo mix. im talking about the windows xp pro x86,x64 drivers

Most xp drivers have the support option for stereo mix which disappeared in vista.

Thats why i said to run the xp driver in compatibility mode and it should install fine.

As I noted, Intel came out with an IDT driver for Windows 7 and it DOES have the System Mixer.
