Help! No sound from laptop speakers, headphones yes!

Any help is greatly appreciated. I have a sony vaio VGN-NW310f laptop with Windows 7. Up until 2 days ago everything was perfect, but suddenly I am getting no sound from the speakers. If I plug in headphones I get sound, but if I unplug headphones, nothing! Well, the computer acts like the sound is working, but I hear nothing.
Right now speaker properties shows I have "High Definition Audio Device" by Microsoft. I know that I had realtek speakers before, but in my attempt to "fix" my problem, I clicked "roll back driver" and somehow lost the realtek and now have the microsoft speakers. I guess it doesn't really matter which speakers I have as long as they work!
Any idea how to get sound again!?

Windows 10 64 bit

Use the System Restore and restore the PC back to a date when it did work correctly. System Restore can be accessed from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools. System Restore will not delete any user data or e-mails. As noted select a restore date that is back when it did work correctly.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Go to control panel/sound and do your set up there by selecting a default. Under Sounds tab look at bottom and see if box with Play windows startup sound is checked. Also under Communications make sure Mute all sounds is without the dot in it.

There is also the possibility that the contacts for the headphones are stuck. That is a common problem.

If you can open the case you can check the contacts. You can also try wiggling the headphone jack around while plugged in to see if that releases it.

Sound not coming through laptop speakers, but works with headphones
Hello. I've got a Thinkpad T430s (Windows 7) here and it's acting strangely. Namely, if I play a clip through the laptop's speakers, I hear no sound, but when I plug the headphones, everything works nice and neat. One thing I noticed, is that computer actually recognises the sound, because the...

Sound comes out of my speakers not my headphones.
I'm renting from someone living in his house with 2 other people next room over. Audio plays out of my speakers whether my head phone is plugged in or not so I know its not the head phone age. I use the front jack for the headphone. The computer doesn't list my headphone either in the available...

Sound randomly switching between headphones and laptop speakers.
I have looked quite a bit for my problem, and perhaps a fix to my problem and I have never been able to find one. I've tried Microsoft fix-its, they do not work. Basically my problem is at random times, my headset will just stop working and it will switch back to my laptop, as if my headphones...

Sound out of Speakers, not headphones
On my brand new Asus laptop, I have not been able to figure out how to get sound out of my headphones when I plug them in. On my old laptop, if I plugged in the headset, sound went there automatically. Not on the new computer. The headset I have has a USB plug. I was able to get sound out of them...
