Hello all! My problem is this:

-There is a online shooting game called S4 League,

They asked for the model names of my modem and router to tell me the exact configurations to do it. But they couldn't find them.

    All this go me here!

Im in desperate need of help because if I want to play , I need to connect directly my computer to the modem and leave the router aside.

So basically what I want to know is:

-If I set those correctly, will it damage or change any internet settings in the way to make internet slower or any different kinds?

    Model Names are:
    (MODEM) - Arris TM502G
    (ROUTER) - SMC WBR14S-N2

    Thanks!

So now that I found out the source of the problems, I need to know how to fix it. I wrote multiple tickets in the company support system and they told me this: " You should try to set your modem as BRIDGE and your router as a ROUTER." Then I sayd ok, and how do I do that!?!

-How do I set my modem as a bridge and router as router?
A bridge connection would require you to create a dial up broadband connection...first by going into modem setting-wan-selecting bridge connection instead of PPPoE or PPPoA. Then creating a dial up broadband connection in network and sharing center.
Your router should be handling the PPPoE if you bridge the modem.

Well I got a static IP for my computer ( not for the router ) and I portforwarded the ports I had too. It still isn't fixed. I tried to acess my modem page but I can only view the status page but Im pretty sure the problem is the router. Maybe I have double NAT?

About setting the modem as bridge, could you tell me how to do that exactly, step by step? Im still a noob in this sord of things. And doing so wouldn't it require to reconfigure my dad's and my brother's internet connection?

This seems to explain it best our of everything I've found so far:Quick Way to Configure DSL Modem in Bridge Mode

It shouldn't mess with you other family members connections, but if it does, that is what we are here for.

If that tutorial doesn't help, there is this on which goes into more detail:ADSL Modem / router full bridge mode tutorial

Arris login: 192.168.100.1. But you can't change any settings. This modem is a cable modem...this is a newer version of what I got from Comcast cable.

Depending on your isp, you may not be able to get a different modem. You never told us what isp you have...

I would investigate another router with more features, but those tend to be more expensive...

Ok I think I found out something that might work. Since my modem and router both the NAT funcionality ( I think ) , I tought maybe disabling the NAT funcionality on my router ( SMCWBR14S-N2 ) would maybe stop the conflict between my router and modem. But im not sure if it's a good idea or if it will work cuz I read that NAT prevent hacker attacks and stuff.

Please tell me your opinion about doing this!

    Thanks!

    EDIT: Sorry for Double-Post! Didn't notice ! Q_Q
