    AV Suggestions and Input

For some reason I am fascinated with AV products. I have tried a bunch out and I really want to know what everybody else is using. Here are some I have used...

Microsoft Security Essentials - Simple UI, long scans, reliable, compatible.
Avast! - Nice UI, scans rootkits, quick scans.
AVG - to many updates, to many ads, bogs down system.
    Trend - Not used

Any other good AV out there?

There are a lot of threads regarding your question on this forum. Did you read those and what did you conclude.

A couple of years ago it was great, now it seems to lag. Just my opinion though. Do you use AVG Free or Premium?

    Yea, I read every post....

I was bringing this issue to attention, and I didn't conclude anything, thats why I asked the question. You realize, that most of questions asked on this forum can be answered by searching google. I asked a question, that what forums are for.

    Free.

I feel like, personally, I am smart enough to stop obvious virus' from coming in (user initiated things such as bad links, attachments, etc), as a backup for things that potentially I have no control over, I have AVG. Never had a problem with the software, never had a virus since I began using it.

    <3 AVG

You seem to be posting that often.

I'll give you the standard answer and save you a lot of time.

If you want free, use MSE.

If you want to pay for something, or need some unique advanced feature, get NOD32.

Either way, I back it up with the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (manual scan...doesn't do real-time). Either option will be a solution for just about anyone.
