Full retail version of Malwarebytes & Comodo.. anyone using both?
I recently purchased the retail version of Malwarebytes just to see if it's any good. It seems almost mindless how people talk about Malwarebytes but and I have yet to try it. However, the only computer I have that I am absolutely determined to keep for more than a few months already has comodo internet security installed. Now I am fully aware that having two RT scanners running simultaneously is supposedly a recipe for instant distaster, but you know what?
It's been almost a week and nothing bad has happened. I've deliberately tried to infect my computer and nothing I've found on the internet gets past it. Sometimes Malwarebytes catches it, sometime CIS catches it. Rarely they both find something simultaneously. Who knows, maybe someone in microsoft is smart enough to have figured out by now that there is no such thing as a single application that can stop everything out there. |

Although the prevailing feeling is that it would not be ok. I feel that you should not have a problem.
I won the free version of Malewarebytes and it runs with my AntiVirus with no problem. That is a benefit of Malwarebytes it plays nice with most antivirus software. I would never run two antivirus software together as that is a sure forumla for problems, BSOD etc. Since, I have been using mine since (about January) and you have been doing the same for a week, I am sure that we are doing the right thing. |

If anything bad happens, I'll just wipe the HDD anyway, but really, someone in microsoft ought to have figured out by now that there is no one antivirus/antiamalware/whatever that can stop everything. I'm using the RT protection on both and haven't gotten any errors from either. It's got to be the operating system, because I'm willing to bet that if I tried the same thing in XP it would crash within hours if not sooner. And to top it all off, I've been using Internet explorer for the first time in years for more than just downloading firefox without any problems either.

MalwareBytes is not a AV, it is AntiSpyware (AntiMalware). I have several with real time protection, and they all play well together. Not saying there couldn't be a conflict, but that would be the exception rather than the rule. Some suites want to be the only game in town, so they want everything else turned off. MalwareBytes is approaching CCleaner for reputation, and that is a good thing. A Guy
