How to hide or delete Administrator

hey there -- I'm wondering if there's a way to get rid of the identifier "Administrator" under an account name (as well as "Standard User" on others) so that only the account names show up on the Welcome Screen to obfuscate this account to hackers? Barring that, it there a way to hide the Administrator account from the Welcome screen? Thanks a lot! Cheers, -- S

    Try this
Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

If you have another account with admin rights anyway.

You must have one administrator account. You can password protect it.

And hiding or renaming an account will not necessarily stop a hacker. Hackers look for the Security Identifier (SID) in an account to determine what type of account it is. An admin account ends with 500. And unfortunately, it can't be changed. A strong password, and a good, multilayered approach to security will go a long way.

Thanks guys for taking the time. Working on the multi-layering approach. The thought came to mind because there's a tutorial on removing the security tabs I think it was on apps to help prevent IDing the Admin account. Just a thought. Cheers.
