I am using AVG Free Edition and I have had no problems after an update and restart. Although, I use McAfee on my other partition containing XP.
the best antivirus should not allow you to download in the first place... Atleast I can vouch for F-Secure...
Im running Avira, ive had previous faith in AVG, It runs well, but consumes a bit more ram then id like, so Avira was my choice after :)

True and if there really was one, perfect AV im sure we would all be using it.
I like Avast and Eset for various reasons and both will keep my PC's safe, just in different ways.
I see no security risk by downloading those tests as they cant do anything so im not worried but i agree, its best not to have them there at all.
Norton Antivirus 2009. Had been using others including AVG for some time on my systems. Norton feels lite to me and should be adequate. This version of from symantec uses about 7meg across two processes on my system
