    i'm currenly using kaspersky antivirus 8.0 technical preview for windows 7.. it is running fine and doesn't slow down my system..i turned off all modules except antivirus,antispy,and anti hacker..i only have 179 days remaining because it is only a trial version.. avp.exe only uses less than 2mb of ram

    With AVG restart time was 238s O_o. Removed it and restart time was 58 wow. Installed avira antivir and restart time is 88. Any better suggestion?

    I used AVG Internet Security 8.0 when I was on Vista, well I''m still using it now. Nothing like all the security features a computer needs all squeezed into one qute icon that sits silently in your tray. AVG rules.

    WowZ! Either you have many programs installed, either your harddrive is totally.... exausted.
    Never had such problems though. I currently have 45 programs installed and install something new almost every day. Try removing some of your other startup programs that you don't need. Start > msconfig > Startup. Just uncheck anything you don't need and you're done!

    I experienced the same thing..avg slows down windows significantly..i removed it and i am using kaspersky internet security 8.0.0.506 (a.b.) ..working perfectly on windows 7

    Faced samething with AVG and now using F-Secure without any problems, their beta testing is going on u can download one and request the key and the free subscription is valid till 16-11-2009....
