I was using AVG free .. But the resident shield slowed down my computer.
I was afraid to try Zone Alarm for a Firewall ...
So now I'm running the free Comodo Security Anti-Virus and Firewall ...
for Vista 32 in my W7-7137x86
Free Firewall - Download the Best Firewall Protection and Anti-Virus Scan Software from Comodo

    So far .. So good.

Thanks .. My neighbor swears by Comodo firewall .. I wasn't sure about the AV.
He usually has a pretty good idea of what he's talking about.

I have my UAC turned off and it looks like the Comodo firewall is picking up the slack.
I'm also using WinPatrol to help out with what UAC "should" be doing .. but doesn't.
But this is going beyond the Anti-Virus subject.

Seems to be a long time to BOOT. 238s = 3m57.6s so lets say 3m58s.
mine start 1m55s - 47 services running. AV, AS, AM, FW, Internet Speed monitor, all MS services.
    shutdown 20s

I use nothing except ESET Smart Security, I set my Firewall to interactive.

    AVG 8.5 Free
Easy to download, install and use, especially using very little system resources.
It functions outstandingly as real-time safety ratings for all search results in Google, Yahoo and MSN/Live search.

I wanted to use Norton, but when I put in the Norton Internet Security 2009 disk, it said it didn't support this OS. Therefore, I had to use Avast, which is also very good.
