To tell you the truth, I don't know what raised the flags on that, considering that the schools security can be a bit "lax" at times.

Take for example today, I walked past the server room and once again saw it wide open, no one inside keeping an eye on things.

Add to the fact they have had a virus for 1 year now they haven't gotten rid of (they are using McAfee, so there's the probable cause)

The original intention was there for people to make use of the software to improve things, however, the security holes in that software and in any software was basically not taking into consideration other people's malicious intent and it bit them in the butt time and time again.
And yeah, they had good intentions, the problem is, nowadays, every spammer is looking for any opening to get the warez out.

Well, you also have to remember, common sense isn't so common these days. It takes semi-Paranoid personalities, like myself, where we know what needs to be done at times, especially when you have someone messing with your systems.

Unfortunately, to really drill it home, something bad has to happen or someone higher up realizing the issue before they do something about it.
