MSE at the moment. I have always missed the signature update since my PC are not up 24/7 and because MSE is check for updates once every 24 hours. MSE won't play the catch-up to update the signature either. So I went back to Avast for a week or two.

But after I tweaked the registry from once every 24 down to once every 2 hours now I came back to MSE for good.

The first time I ran MS SE was along the free version of AVG until one day not having the AVG security toolbar enabled saw a trojan getpast both! That's when I decided to followup on the advice to give the VIPRE Premium a good look over.

That has everything rolled into one software and has shown itself the best run so far. Includes all forms of malware protection layers including rootkit protection. Blocks bad sites out completely before you stumble into trojans and other things. But it doesn't come free.

I bought Kaspersky Internet Security a few months back, but haven't installed it on my new PC, mainly because of how I remember it slowing my older system down. I think I'm just going to install this MSE that lots of vyou guys are using.

I think that is a very wise decision. That said, I am currently running AVG. I just finished running Avast. I will eventually get back to MSE.

I went from AVG to Avast and then back to AVG and then ran the MSSE when first out first removing AVG and then reinstalled AVG right after seeing both on the same time.

If you have AVG on use the IE security bar option seen with the last few builds since the 8.0 release. You'll want that additional layer of IE protection for web filtering.
