    Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Win 7

    Anybody tried this???

Is unstable and launches "Previous application launch failed" errors frequently, yet the program still runs.

I don't want any security software that is either free, cause I don't trust such software, or trial-ware.

Which paid for AVs work on 7? I got licenses for Norton IS 2009 & Kaspersky IS 2009...

Oh, and AVG free is causing trouble after it was uninstalled...AVG was somehow corrupted so I uninstalled it. Yet traces of it remain in the registry.

Avast works pretty good. Just because it's free doesn't really mean it's untrustworthy. Others have reported Kaspersky not working right too.

I've been running the technical preview from Kaspersky with only one annoyance.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Win 7 tried it worked for about 2 weeks and then gave me nothing but problems. Sorry it was about a month ago I uninstalled, so I can't recall what the exact problems were but they were bad enough that I uninstalled it.
I did get AVG.Internet.Security.8.5.281.Build.1448 to work but the lack of virus definition updates made me nervous. So it's gone now and I now have Sunbelt VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware 3.1.246. It's a great anti-virus caught some trojans that AVG missed. It doesn't have a firewall so I'm looking for a good one, using Windows until I find one that works!!!

i think that for now Avast Free + malware bytes is the best and less invasive solution for 7.

How about ESET smart security? I try that one, and works fine for me so far, but maybe someone has different opinions.

I got a BSoD when I tried to install Kaspersky so if I were you I wouldn't bother with it for a while
