Ive always used Avast! on my old AMD Sempron 2800+ (2Ghz single core) with 2GB DDR ram and have never had a problem with system lag and have never had any infections. i personally love the various system "shields" that scan all information while being processed

Ah, so this is not for the computer you have system specs for. Like I said, Avast and MSE both have low resource use. Flip a coin, you can't go wrong.

I posted a similar thing in another thread. It always amazes me that people are concerned about this. If it takes a few MB of RAM for my AV to do it's job then it's welcome to it.

@Lemur...you should read this "Fanboism" - What exactly does that mean? as it applies to your post here
@tweek... you should read narcissism, as it may apply to your post.

I just need to know which uses less system resources? I have been a long time user of Avast! home antivirus. Also I might use it on my current computer too (the one with the specs listed below)

Hi Imeem IMHO Comodo Firewall 5.0.16 (free) & Avast AV 5.0.6 (free) compliment each other perfectly with very little background usage. They work hand in hand very effectively.
