    Virus preventing login?

It seems like a virus is preventing me from logging on to my computer. The computer starts just fine but upon turning on, the screen is just blank. I cannot access safe mode either. Just before I discovered this problem I had done a partial scan of my computer with MalwareBytes and removed the viruses I found. Upon this, I was asked to restart the computer. Please help! Thank you.

You might have to boot from your operating system disk and run a repair. The virus could have affected the mbr.

I followed both tutorials and Startup Repair claimed that nothing was wrong. I restarted the computer and it still will not login. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Run a bootable AV to see if it finds anything, which will tell you if this is the prob: FREE Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CDs Download List

Make sure Win7 partition is marked Active before running Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots.
    Partition - Mark as Active
Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times

In the Mark Partition Active tutorial, you can Select Partition on the 100mb and Win7 partitions, then type Detail Partition to see which is now marked Active.

You can also copy out your files using the Repair CD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Flush your DNS cache and restore MS's original Hosts file

Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.
    @Echo on
    pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
    attrib -h -s -r hosts
    echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
    attrib +r +h +s hosts
    popd
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    ipconfig /flushdns
    netsh winsock reset all
    netsh int ip reset all
    shutdown -r -t 1
    del %0

Save as flush.bat to your desktop.

Right click and run as Administrator, your computer will reboot itself.

If that doesn't work, then download one of these anti-virus rescue disks ISO, using a clean computer

Do I save the bootable AV to a CD or flashdrive?
