Permissions on folder: How to reset to none?

I have just recently re-installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit after having 32-bit installed.

My problem is that a folder on my external drive suddenly has permissions which restrict me from moving, copying or deleting files and folders. The root folder primarily contains pictures and music in subdirectories, so i am unsure if media player is interfering.

Trying to access the folder and do anything through "Windows Explorer" as admin doesnt yield any changes in behaviour. I've also tried going through "local system policy" in system properties and setting "Local Policies-Security Options-Accounts: Administrator Account Status" to enabled, but still no luck.

Ideally i'd like to perform any copy/cut/paste/delete operation anywhere on the hard drive, any ideas? Thanks.
