Windows Defender every time I log in

    You really should not be using MSE and Avast at the same time. Both are anti-malware programs and running two like programs at the same time is really a waste of resources, but also may cause conflicts as one program may wonder what the other program is up to - like two dogs guarding the same bone!

    Avast v5.0 is evidently been made to work with/along side MSE,

    Latest version of Avast Antivirus

    Several members here have been recommending it so I tried it and no problems, so far.

    In actuality, most programs do play well together, but there is still the chance of a conflict. And nevertheless, doubling up on scanners wastes (IMO) resources.

    It seems my above comment was taken as a personal affront. It was not meant to be. I was attempting to point out the user is the weakest link, not the AM software. I apologize to all for any misunderstandings.
