firewall or kaspersky 8 blocking port in utorrent

I am having some trouble with utorrent and getting an open port, I narrowed the problem to either windows firewall or kaspersky 8 or even both. If i disable firewall and kaspersky I can get an open port, but once I turn them on utorrent slows down indicating the port is not open. I have included utorrent as allowed in widows firewall but same problem. Has anyone had same prob or got some advice on what I should try?
    thanks

    hey and welcome to SF.
We could be alot more helpful if you fill the info in "my system specs" in control panel. Utorrent will report a port closed if it slows down enough to appear blocked. You probably have to unblock it in Win firewall and kaspersky. One way to find out which is to disable firewall alone and see if it works. then re-enable firewall. disable kaspersky and see if utorremt works and fix which ever one is blocking ut.

    Hope this helps somewhat

Do you have Kaspersky Anti-virus (KAV) or Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS)?

If your using KIS's firewall, its best to turn off windows firewall as its not recommended to use two firewalls.

Check to see in what group Kaspersky placed the u-torrent app in. In must be placed in the trusted group in "Application Filtering".
