    My security... any tips?

    Hey guy's!
So I'd like to get some comment's about my system security!
My OS is Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit.
    4GB RAM

    So here it is:
Microsoft Security Essential's - free and powerful as far as I know. I'v heard goods about this AV + it's compatibility with Windows 7 and it's built-in Firewall, am I right?

MalwareBytes - Run's registerd but not in a real-time protection mode. Is that cool?

CounterSpy - Run's registerd but also not in a real-time protection!

DeepFreeze - tried the trial version and I was quite amazed of this program!

    Thinking to buy:
Sandboxie - run stuff in a sandboxed environment? sound's awesome!

SuperAntiSpyware - A great anti-spyware program! Used the portable and free version fromt theire homepage.

Please comment and share you'r thought's with me
    Am I beeing paranoid? XD

    Welcome
All that is needed is Security Essentials
    Malwarebytes, free editiion
    Windows firewall

You can, also add WinPatrol, my and Corrine's favorite extra protection.

Add a little common sense and the other software is just a waste of space and maybe money. In addition, it takes resources and your time to do unnecessary scans.
    Thats my opinion.

It has many good features, which I use.
For purpose here, it takes a pic of your hard drive when you install. Then if you or a virus or malware tries to install something you are warned and you can say yes or not
Nice feature. You must have real time AV, however

Winpatrol saved me from a virus that wanted to add itself. So Id recommend it.
My personal preference is Superantispyware over Malwarebytes.

This is your ultimate protection: Imaging with free Macrium
Doesn't have to be Macrium, but be sure to have image of your system partition and backups of your data of course. Second step are AV programs.
    cheers

Sandboxie is powerful enough to protect your system without anything else.

Richard has provided you with sound advice..
I would encourage you to keep SuperAntispyware as well.

    Hi, BDani.

With multiple anti-malware scanning programs installed, to avoid false/positives and allow for complete removal by each program, do a shutdown/restart between scans with each program. It is also advisable to clean temp files prior to scanning.

Looks like you're loaded. Really, otherwise it doesnt make sense to pay so much when you can manage wonderfully with a little money.

Now all you need to throw all that money down the drain is to visit a shady site and keep clicking randomly, particularly on ads and popups.
