Should I try and upgrade to a better antivirus?

okay, I am using Ca 2010. I was wondering do you think that I should try and upgrade to a better anti virus. I really do not have the money to do it. I might be able to at some point. Do you think it is good enough to hold me off. It has got some stuff that Bitdefender has not noticed at all. It seems to work good so far. I seem to have no problems out of what is has found.

I'd keep it for now. I use and recommend the free Microsoft Security Essentials, but as long as you are careful about what sites you visit and what you download, just about any anti-virus will do the trick.

When your subscription to CA expires, you may consider switching to a free one, but it's not a big enough deal to change now, unless you have the desire.

My CA 2010 is given to me free from my ISP. It costs like $60 other wise. SO I figured it was better than other free ones. I would really like to know witch one I am best with though. I want what I can get that is the best.

Are you using Road Runner by any chance?

In my experience, no security program is perfect. There have been tests done to show which programs have the best threat detection rates, but these are often inaccurate and unfair.

Here on SF, threads often go wild when the topic of "what's the best anti-virus" comes up. Everyone has their own favorite program, and they are all good.

Don't download music, movies, and *adult* materials, and you should be ok. Just be sure of what you're getting, and from where. Also, it might not hurt to exit the program if you're not using it.
