Whats up with their Beta program - 2nd time a 'beta' has gone RTW and those of us in the 'on-going' beta are left behind.

So far I've not found anywhere that there is a 'New Beta' starting up.. Beta version should not update to RTW I wouldn't think - so any recommendations as to how to proceed ?
Are you still running Windows7 RC? The final version (RTM) was released in Octber of 2009. You're not going to get the MSE final version without Windows 7 RTM.

I tried to upgrade the way I did the last time. I used the triangle in the upper right corner and selected upgrade which opens the "Upgrade Wizard" but it says my version is the latest: 1.0.2498.0. The support page still calls it "Beta": Beta | Microsoft Security Essentials

If you can't update from your existing program, just use the link to the new one and install over it, or clean install it.

It's not a beta, the support page probably hasn't been updated yet, along with the program internal update. Need to give it time, sometimes it takes a few days after before you get notice.

We are extremely excited to announce that Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 (FEP) has released to manufacturing! Customers can access the RTM release on the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) starting Jan. 1, 2011 -- or try the evaluation version immediately.
There are a ton of new features to explore in this new release including award-winning antimalware protection (FEP uses same engine as Microsoft Security Essentials),

Did you download the 64bit version?
Runnin' a little late, just got back from my brother-in-laws viewing.

Yes I started with the x64. I even tried the upgrade choice in the drop-down. It told me I have the latest, and greatest.

Give me a few minutes, and I'll try Airbot's link like Hoppy did

By looking at the posts in the previous page, MSE 2 final is still not convincing. It uses 30-60mb RAM. Not RAM-friendly.

I'm good. Downloaded from Airbot's link, installed over old MSE, told me I was 7days out on updates?
When the previous version was just updated today, but I can understand that.
    Took 63.7MB to update.
    Version 2.0.657.0
    New Network Inspection System.

Took this snip with browser shut down, only program that was running was MSE. Not sure what I should be looking at, the working set?

    Hi all

If you have any probs such as upgrading from the BETA version then just UNINSTALL whatever version you have and then install the file downloaded from the server.

    Works fine.

    Cheers

So how's the network inspection tool? Can anyone show a screenshot of it? I won't be able to see it until later tonight when I go home and update.

There is not much to look at. It's a Sub-setting in Settings.

As far as I can tell it's either on or off.

Oh, I thought it was more in-depth, like a network activity monitor. I bet it slows down browsing a bit?
