Glad you got the Malewarebytes.
Malwarebytes is just a scanner and removal tool but when you close it that is it.

MSE is an active antivirus/antimalware so it will help keep all the critters and bugs off your system.

Jacee and/or Corrine will be here. They are the Aces on these problems.

They can help you further with the Security center problem.

After seeing your post that you had no antivirus installed I was trying to keep you safe on the internet at least for the time being.

I understand.

We are all volunteer. I don't know when they will be on line.

I would rather you get good info from them than the wrong or bad info from me.

Hi Jacee,

I am currently running a malware bytes scan again, looks like there are more infected objects since yesterday. I will wait until the scan is complete to delete the infected files, then I will check for any Windows updates.

After the MBAM scan is completed, please click the Logs tab in MBAM and post contents of that file in your next reply so Jacee and I can see what was found.

First let's flush your DNS cache and restore MS's Hosts file.

Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.

@Echo on
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset all
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0

Save as flush.bat to your desktop. Right click and run as Administrator. Your computer will reboot itself.

Next, download TFC by Old Timer TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer - Geeks to Go Forums and save it to your desktop.
Save any unsaved work.
TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
Double-click on TFC.exe to run it. If you are using Vista/Windows 7 right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator.
Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway to ensure a complete clean.

After doing the above, Update Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.
  • Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u223 allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u23-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.
Get rid of c:\program files\mozilla firefox\extensions\resultbar, if found.
Uninstall and delete the folder

Run another scan with MBam and post the log, please.
