Hello!
Jacee has really hit the nail on the head. Services!
You need to look at the codes from winerror.h. The second one means very little, but the first one means a lot.Code:C:\Users\Richard>err 0x8007042c # as an HRESULT: Severity: FAILURE (1), Facility: 0x7, Code 0x42c # for hex 0x42c / decimal 1068 : RES_SMB_SHARE_CANT_ADD clusvmsg.h JET_wrnColumnSetNull esent98.h # /* Column set to NULL-value */ SQL_1068_severity_16 sql_err # Only one list of index hints per table is allowed. ERROR_SERVICE_DEPENDENCY_FAIL winerror.h # The dependency service or group failed to start. # 4 matches found for "0x8007042c" C:\Users\Richard>err 0x80070643 # as an HRESULT: Severity: FAILURE (1), Facility: 0x7, Code 0x643 # for hex 0x643 / decimal 1603 : ecFavCreateMessage ec.h ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE winerror.h # Fatal error during installation. # 2 matches found for "0x80070643" C:\Users\Richard>
All that has been done. I doesn't seem to help. Something is very wrong.

After doing that, type services.msc in the start search box. When services window opens, right click on Windows Firewall, choose properties, set it to 'automatic' and start the service.
Do the same for 'MSSE', which is Microsoft Security Essentials. Also make sure Security Center is set to automatic and started.
Since you haven't been able to install Microsoft Security Essential yet, I don't quite see how you have that service yet. Surely you cannot have, unless I am very much mistaken.
Can you please make sure all of the following are started. If any of them don't exist, please tell me which ones. If any fail to start, please tell me which ones. I do not necessarily expect them all to be on your machine. Thanks! Display names:
Windows Firewall
Windows Firewall Authorisation Driver
Base Filtering Engine
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
DCOM Server Process Launcher
Microsoft Security Essentials
Microsoft Antimalware Engine
Security Centre
Windows Management Instrumentation
Thanks!
Richard
