    task manager corrupt?

My task manager shows some strange chinese character under all the user name entries. My name is nowhere to be seen.
Is there any way to correct this?

Make a full anti virus scan
Download and make a full scan with malwarebytes. Be sure to update first. Then if clean.
I would try a system restore from before the problem

I ran sfc /scannow. Got this message “windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.”. Ran maleware scan, fixed a few issues, no change to task manager.
I did a system restore to before the problem started, no change.
In task manager under processes, the user name shows chinese characters. Under users, it looks normal.
I am also getting an error when trying to run "manage" when right clicking "computer". 'C:\Windows\system32\twext.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error."
    Thanks for the help.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

This needs to be run up to three times to repair all files. It can't do all repairs/ restore in one pass. It did repair/ restore some of them.

Thus when you get this “windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.” run it again.
    Start it all over again.

Ran system file checker 4 times. No change.
I tried to do a repair install but it froze at 17%.
    Thoughts anyone?
    Thanks.

Repair install usually fixes eveything. That was going to be my next suggestion.

I'm stumped as far as repairing. Someone else may have ideas.

Clean install is so drastic when a repair of some sorts should work.
Let me take a look and I'll see if I can find something else.

Just for fun maybe we should check for bugs your having those weird characters. Not really for fun but it could be a virus or something.

    Download this. Malwarebytes
Free button on left top of page. Install then click Update tab and update. Then Scanner tab and run full scan. Remove delete anything if prompted.
It will also make a Notepad log. Save the log to desktop or somewhere you can find it easy. Then upload log with your post.

This is how to upload a file or picture if you need it.
