    KIS 2011 Application corrupted

    Hello everyone,
    Just ran into an issue. I was just doing casual browsing and all of a sudden ups shut off. Didn't know that it was running on battery. Anyways, the pc just went off.
    I started it. Found that KIS screaming. It's window banner and other indications turned red.
    Problem it reported- Corrupt databases and application components not initializing. I tried updating the database to no avail.
    So, basically, I've got a corrupt AV. What do I do?
    Try System restore first or re-install it? What would be the better way?

    What version you got by the way 11.0.1.400 or 11.0.2.556? Try this way first and see what happen.

    Please do a Repair install Kaspersky first. Go to either Start Menu or Control Panel Add/Remove > Kaspersky > Repair or Remove > Repair.

    Then attempt to manually update.

    This may be the solution

    @Bobby
    I've the former version.
    @Yowan
    Unfortunately that option wasn't there.
    But no worries now, after a couple of restarts, its back to normal. Everything's functioning ok.
    Just one thing to test whether it's really in ok condition to be able to block malware. Will throw some samples to it tomorrow.

    That is good to hear that you got your KIS sorted. Nice one there.

    This version KIS 2011 11.0.2.556 is working fine, fixed a lot of issues from KIS 2011 11.0.1.400 including high CPU usage and few others.

    Will update it soon. Never faced any problem with build .400 ever though, except this. Thanks.

    You're welcome there. You made a point there, some have been inflicted with problems while some like you have no problems. I held off migrating KIS 2010 to KIS 11.0.2.556 until it became official on Kaspersky UK download site.

    This link shows all the improvement and fixes with CF211.0.2.556

    KIS problem

    I know it's fixed now but I have KIS 2011 (.556 (b)) on both my machines and they are working a charm.
    If I have a problems with KIS I get the solutions from the Kaspersky forum and the answers are there - thats all they deal with.
    My own ISS fixes have been through my local forum here in Oz after I had problems with the versions etc.
    Solution was really simple - but time consuming but very thorough and worth it in the end.
