    Newbie question on MSEssentials

I've just started using Win 7 home prem 64 and Microsoft Security Essentials. I have not tweaked any of the generic MSE settings, so I'm using a Quick Scan, not a Full Scan.

My wife and I are on the web a lot of the time, but only for general web surfing, email, etc. We don't game or look at videos, but we're serious about electronic safety and security and privacy, so I would like to know if a Quick Scan is good enough.

What are the differences, and which should I use?

    Thx in advance.

Quick scan scans the most common files and folders where malware might reside. A full scan scans all files and folders and therefore is more thorough.
I suggest you to use full scan once in one or two mounts. :)

It wouldn't hurt to add Malwarebytes to your system and running a full system scan with it once a week or more.

Also, common sense prevails if you want privacy on the net. What you choose to put out there, stays out there for all to see.
