I have, use, and like WOT, but the rating are not always accurate. Part of the ratings are from users like me and you. If a user is dissatisfied with a Symantec product they will give a bad rating. That being said the rating given was not black so not very unsatisfactory. In addition, the ratings are not for malware; but basically for customer satisfaction etc.

    Hi, panais.

I do not get the same results when using the same search terms or at the WOT website. Did you click the WOT link to find out why the rating was as shown?

@Rich, although WOT is largely based on user input, there are reviews. In addition, sites that are included in the h p HOSTS file and/or Malwaredomain block list will have that indication as well. An example of a site from the same search terms that serves malicious content is shown at WOT here: 3d2f.com | WOT Reputation Scorecard | WOT (Web of Trust)

yes, it redirects you into Symantec through hxxp://m1168.ic-live.com/

But it is not redirecting you to the phishing site as most WOT user thinks. It is redirecting you to the legitimate Symantec site.

As you can see the site was rated bad by only users, and it wasn't marked as harmfull by any other additional sources like malwaredomainlist or HP Hosts ( as Corrine mentioned).

Therefore in my opinion it just an human factor, that thinks any kind of redirection is harmful.

Let me try to explain why this redirect is happening.
It is just Syamantec is using SEO/SEM services of Digital Marketing Agency, Collaborative Web Development Solutions: iCrossing, we build connected brands in order to promote himself. (As many companies do)
Search engine marketing (SEO/SEM). We built our company helping clients implement natural search programs and paid search media campaigns. We’re experts in both areas, and we’ve proven that managing them as an integrated program produces better results. With more search specialists than any other digital marketing firm, we help clients master all elements of their search performance, using better technology to help us manage programs more efficiently and effectively. So if you need search engine optimization, or need to optimize press releases, images, videos or other assets, we can help. We can do them all, from managing pay-per-click, paid inclusion and feed management programs, to integrating natural and paid campaigns. Just ask us and we’ll deliver.
You can see this being mentioned by the only good mark in the WOT aswell:
Cette redirection est normale : elle permet à Google de compter les clics.
    Which in English means:
This redirection is normal: it allows Google to count the clicks.
Which is almost correct, with exception that it is not Google but Digital Marketing Agency, Collaborative Web Development Solutions: iCrossing, we build connected brands which is counting the clicks.

As you can see it is in no way is harmful link. As I already said it is one of the examples which shows that WOT is Community opinion. And in some cases community may not know enough to judge some links.

Interesting thing is that if you check main domain of that link (Which would be hxxp://ic-live.com/) in WOT, it will give neutral rating and the comments There will actually explain that it is just a marketing redirect site. ic-live.com | WOT Reputation Scorecard | WOT (Web of Trust)

I hope it clarifies this topic

Looks like some of the reviews may simply be a bit mistaken.

For future reference, you can also use Nortons lookup for sites you want to double check or are unsure of.
Double checking may not always be required, but its nice to have extra tools at your disposal when unsure.

    Norton Safe Web, from Symantec

Its part of NIS, but the web version can be used by everyone for free.
I like it because it gives both, Nortons rating as well as the communtitys rating.
