    MSE won't install

    Hi there,

Been trying to reinstall MSE but it keeps giving Error code:0x80070005 error has prevented MSE from installing please restart your pc and try again . I have no other antivirus programs installed and after looking up the error code it suppose to mean it's not getting access to some files. I am the administrator so i have no clue what's stopping it from installing Any ideas/solutions?

    Thanks.

You may need to clean up the left overs from your previous anti-virus software, read this thread...

After doing what Dean said, try running the setup as administrator via Right click> Run as administrator

I was having the same problems, when I was using MSE 2.0. The program was not able to update, and I reinstalled it. Then I've got the same problems as RaviR have now.
    (Now I'm using Norton Internet Security 2011 :) )

Try and check if your copy of Windows is genuine, MSE only runs on genuine Windows.

    Genuine Microsoft Software
