User Reviews & Opinions on Vipre Antivirus Premium 4.0

    to all techies/users/reviewers:

i want to shift to another system security software in my pc. i want to try a new line of defense for my machine. at present, am running avast internet security 5.0 + MBAM + MSE.

browsing the net, i found this Vipre Antivirus Premium 4.0 as the latest release and being recommended highly on some review sites, PCMag in particular.

i use my machine mainly for internet browsing (including exchange of some critical id's like e-shopping) and online gaming.

would you recommend this system security app? or you have a better suggestion to use? or want me to stick to my current line of defense? :)

    TYIA!

Why are you using both Avast and MSE? They'll conflict with each other.

I highly recommend Vipre Anti-Virus for Windows xp and 7. I have the all you can eat version of Vipre premium for my home machines and I have not noticed any problems in a year or so. It is fast and not intrusive except when you attempt to go to a site that has bad guys on it. It also check email and attachments and lets you know that they are bad if it finds bad guys in the attachments.

I don't have any financial interest in GFI software, they bought sunbelt software vipre people.

hi there. thanks for your reply. luckily, i haven't got any conflicting issues of using them both at the same time. its been 1year now since they were running together in my system.

i really just wanna try new security stuffs under the hood man.

I used their software, detection and malware removal were good but their tech support was very bad...
Running more than 1 AV at the same time might conflict and cause BSODs

    hello yowan..

    thanks for the info.

well i guess, running MSE + MBAM is better than having AIS + MBAM + MSE.. fair enough, i should try that tho before i change AV.

    recommendations?

AIS + MBAM is enough, so no need to add MSE to the list
In my case I only run a weekly scan of MBAM since my AV is pretty good in terms of malware detection

thanks again yowan. that seems like a sound idea re: security.

i might get KIS2011 to be paired with my MBAM. MBAM does the job for me, hands down!

i just get curious about Vipre after reading the internet reviews.. :)

I am running the same setup as you have now (Avast,MSE, MBAM) and have had no conflicts and rock solid protection there is no way I will be changing.
