    usb drive

    Hi everyone,
    Short version:
Unchecked the “use auto play for all devices” is there more I could be doing to make sure it’s true.

Can ports accepting physical media actual be secure, or is it silly for me to think that even with auto-play disabled.

    hello.
you must be different two thing.. one is disable auto play is means when u plug in device on your devices, automatically the devices doesn't run auto but the device still detect. and the second one is disable the usbport, if you do disable is means that's when you put device on your port,it's doesn't detect.

For this I'll suggest USB Disk Security. It's great software and will protect you from autorun viruses, and everything on usb drive.
Also before opening the usb in explorer, scan it with antivirus, and malwarebytes.

Lately the first think I need is to make the drive detect but not run anything. For example, I'm using a public video camera that gets passed around to everyone.
stalker : I was hopping to just change all the windows settings to the max security and hope for the best since i don't use this all the time and it's a laptop.
Golden: it seems the program your talking about simply does the thing in the control panel but quickly and easily did I read it right?

at least you want to protect your computer for a virus. you can disable all the device autorun. and i share a little things.
virus can come to computer with all the ways, ex, from media, like flashdisk. and the other is from internet( untrusted web).
i think just how the user used the computer with polite. and of course have antivirus (up to date) also when you plug in media. make sure to scan it first before open it.
