    KIS 2009 and 7264

After upgrating to 7264, Kaspersky 2009 KIS would not even start, Windows 7 is blocking allmost everything in KIS. Emailscanner was running, and that was it AIR. Everything else was stopped by Windows 7 at boot, with a warning of incompatiblitet of programs and services.
I have payed for the key to KIS, so I would like to use it, but it seems not possible for now. In earlier builds KIS gave some oldtime info back to Windows, but it worked.
I now use the free Avast and the buildin firewall of Windows 7, and it seems to do OK.
I know Kaspersky has a betaversion with no support build for Windows 7, but I have never seen any tests with it, so I don't know how secure it is?

I do hope Kaspersky will release something that can run in windows 7 when it is going retail.

    Try upgrading to Kaspersky 2010.

On the Kaspersky forum they do say 2009 doesn't work with Windows 7 and the 2010 is just unsupported on Windows 7 at this time.

I am running two computers with build 7232, and KIS 2009 has no problems on either. It would seem as though MS made major changes between 7232 and 7264...

I can't make KIS2010 accept my cd-key from KIS2009 (valid until 27/2 2010). Do I need to buy a new key?? Or does KIS2009 keys don't work with KIS2010 in Windows 7? I have not tried on my old PC running XP SP3 yet.

No. Keys from 2009 should work in 2010 but not sure if its available in all countries yet. Kaspersky license are like subscriptions, your entitled to upgrades as long as your licence is active.
Install 2009 and then use your key, then un-install 2009 and leave the activation data there on uninstall, reboot then install 2010 and it should see the key file on the PC already.
