Anyone else having this problem? Most of the websites I try to access are being detected as infected. Avast Free 6.0.1044. Virus Def 110411-1

Same here, must be a definitions problem as i disabled updates on my laptop before connecting to the net & it is ok.

Avast forums appears to be down as well.

EDIT: If you disable just the "Web Shield" component from Avast control panel in the mean time until things are sorted it gets you up & running.

This still leaves you with "Network & File" shields

Im having this too right now! In fact i was about to post a thread regarding this.. so i guess this means we're not really getting malware right? False alarm i'd imagine.

Maybe they got site jacked and the perpetrators put out a bad update after gaining control? So the Avast owners took their site offline to rectify the issue? BUT that's just a shot in the dark by my imagination.

No problem here. However, I did a custom install and I only have the File shield, Web Shield, Network Shield and Behavior Shield installed, with no WebRep.

    Which shield is preventing access?

I have Avast Internet Security. It has the firewall.

All mine is blocking is Flash enclosed ads and connections. I was on Miniclip with Chrome set to block all incoming cookies and ads. I totally clear the cache when done.

Anyway it was blocking tracking cookies and adware/malware coming from Miniclip and thru the Flash game.
That is the way I have it set so that shows it was working to me.

Everything is good on this forum. No problems.

Avast site is up and works fine for me.
