From what I have heard on Norton Forum they are good for 1 yr from first installation and you get free upgrades to new versions. My current subscription is good for 7 Months and I will probably buy this special and use the key to renew in 7 Months and by then I will have upgraded to NIS 2012. I think they started this policy in 2009. The only caveat, on these 3pc version the clock for all three start when you use it on the first PC.

You have to watch out. Symantec may automatically renew you and take the money from your credit card. You have to instruct them not to do that.

You need to check your Norton Account at

to be sure you are not signed up for auto renewal. If for some reason you do get charged in error they are very good about giving your money back.

Looks good Jim. I would still suggest to monitor it. They tricked me into a 3 year renewal last time. Not that I would not have done that anyhow, but I did not like their methods.

    Symantec

I have in the past bad mouthed Symantec. They bought out Peter Norton (which I was very fond of) and destroyed the software. I have swore off of Symantec numerous times.

This thread caused me to purchase NIS 2011. I have it loaded and am amazed at what they have done to improve their product. I may become a Norton fan again.
