You know its going to be bad when they have to make their own removal tool to scrape it off your system and even that fails. I gave symantec every opportunity. I used NU, Ghost, Norton Av, Norton 360, etc, etc and every time the footprint eas so large that it proved useless. I have given up on symantec, their products, their support, and their live update. No Im not a fan

Tekkas.

If none of the above worked for you, I have one final solution that just popped into my mind. Use programs like Smarty Uninstaller, Advanced Uninstaller Pro or Perfect Uninstaller to force remove norton. They will remove all associated registry keys of Norton and delete all remaining Norton Files on your PC. I advice you to use Advanced Uninstaller Pro of the three above. You have to pay for it but I think you can use it as a trial first. Cheers

You should just drop Norton and go with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Tekkas,
Time to reinstall Win7 and go with another AV.
Microsoft Security Essentials will work while you test the rest of the OS features. If you must use Norton wait until it's out of beta.

Use MSE man... Norton's like a virtual vampire that lurks in your system, eating up your resources, soon your systemboard will be gone too.
