A/V Software Questions (Conflicts?)

Hi! I've been using the following programs for a long time and don't want to go without them:
1.) SUPERAntiSpyware Pro.
2.) Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware
3.) Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6.2

I enjoy Avira AntiVir Premium Security Suite, am currently using the AntiVir Personal, as it's free... but find it too sensitive, even when set at a low detection level.

My ISP gives us full-version Norton Security Suite priveleges as subscribers, but I simply don't like it and it misses things other A/V programs would catch. No explanation necessary on that one.

However, I have a paid subscription to TrendSecure / Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2009, which as of now is SO different! Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security x64 Pro is blazing fast. No more 6+ background processes. It doesn't just crash at startup. It loads quickly. ...no longer a memory and resource hog. However, they keep badgering the end-user about conflicts with MBAM & Spybot S&D.

Is it, in fact, safe to install TIS Titanium x64 Pro first, then install the free version (no Active System Protection) of MBAM 1.50.1, then Spybot S&D 1.6.2, only with Security Center Integration (no TeaTimer?)

The following link is from a site that I enjoy, which veritably re-states the benefits I've found, but, as always, leaves the ambiguous shadow of conflicting software over it.

Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security 2011, why it's our new A-List security software - Security - Software - Reviews - PC & Tech Authority

TIS Support has to back up their system messages and I don't really trust other forums. All advice appreciated!!!

You should never use more than 1 A/V product or 1 firewall, There are different views on using more than 1 spyware products. It causes a lot of problems if you run 2
Myself I use KIS2011 with Windows Firewall and defender turned off, I've also got Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on my PC with Realtime PP turned off and just run it now and then.

It's ok to use different A/V programs as long as only one of them has a working online/realtime component.
Who's to say if you enjoy next to your AV program 25 on-demand scanners. That shouldn't pose any problems.

Each to their own I suppose but I still would have only 1 A/V working rather than have an conflicts by running 2.

The whole point is: only AV's with online/realtime components will clash.
If you have an additional "on demand" scanner you're fine.

I use Avast as a real time protection and Malwarebyte on demand. That works just fine here

Ive heard you should only have 1 a/v installed on a computer at any given time, but you can have a few on demand scanners for a second opinion.

As I've said it's each to their own and yes peeps do have more than 1 A/V software. I know peeps have problems with more than 1 and others that have no conflicts.

Just because there is no aparent conflict that can be identified by a person doesnt mean theres no conflict going on. And it just may be an update away.
Best advice would be; 1 a/v, 1 f/w, Sandboxie combined with Geswall or Returnil and for on demand scanners; Malwarebytes, Emsisoft, Hitman pro, and superantispyware.

This is a good discussion. Emsisoft (for my information...); is it a good/indepth product? I've used HijackFree for easy hosts-file editing purposes and the obvious freeware utility. What of the malware product (anti, that is?)

As for my initial post, no, I don't run more than 1 A/V utility. I am, as of now, using:

- TIS Titanium Maximum Internet Security x64 (registered/real-time)
- Spybot Search & Destroy (Security Center Integration, yes, but not the TeaTimer / notification of EVERY change")
- SUPERAntiSpyware Pro (registered, but only use on-demand, SASCore Service set to Manual.)
- Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware, on-demand, freeware version.

My initial question, though, was how much water, so to speak, their message holds.

TIS states that I must remove Spybot S&D + MBAM before installing TIS Titanium Max Pro. I did (knew they'd say it, ran into this previously,) then installed A/V...

Went back and put Spybot + MBAM on anyways. Haven't had any issues. What issues am I to expect when they say "conflicting software?" I love TIS Tit. Max. Pro, but refuse to go w/o Malwarebyte's. It's a standard and not using it would be silly. SAS, well, I could survive using the portable version, as it's always going to function famously. Spybot S&D is just a secondary countermeasure. I enjoy the extras like the hosts (known malicious) list + secure file shredder (aggressive!,) as well as the Immunization.

Thanks, all, for so quickly responding!

One other note: Avast! (Free edition) is very, very popular. I used it once, for a brief stint. I found that it didn't really do a whole heck of a lot. Is this a good performer?

Avira AntiVir Personal is just way too sensitive, even at low detection level. Quality product, to say the least, but too many false positives.
