    Hi All!

I'm using BitLocker To Go on a 4GB NTFS Formatted USB Drive, but when I connect it to a Windows XP Pro SP3 machine I am not able to read its contents.
According to technet BitLocker To Go Reader is suppose to install onto the drive so "legacy" systems can still read the contents of the drive. But when I view drive contents on my Win 7 machine I do not see the "bitlockertogo.exe" file.

Is there a security setting or Policy I need to configure somewhere. According to what I could determine on technet, this should be all automatic.

So while every bit of Official Microsoft Documentation I find indicates that the reader should be installed onto the removable drive, actual user testimony and life experience is showing me that this is not true. Kinda annoys me.

Good job on that one Microsoft. Good job

Description of BitLocker To Go Reader - From the M$ support pages

BitLocker To Go Reader (bitlockertogo.exe) is an application that enables you to access the BitLocker-protected drives. When you use BitLocker To Go Reader in Windows Vista and in Windows XP, you can open and view the content of the BitLocker-protected drives that are encrypted in Windows 7. By default, BitLocker To Go Reader is stored on an un-encrypted part of removable drives that are protected with BitLocker.

Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!
