Just to update
They're back.
They are now calling themselves "Telstra Technical Support"
Just got 2 calls one yesterday and one today.
Telstra has no record of them..
They are getting a bit more clever and providing a callback number.
Actually 2 numbers, one yesterday that did go back to the person, and a different one today that did also.
What surprised me about there offer to "remote my Windows pc" was that they also offered to remote a Mac computer and "get this" a Linux pc too..
I should have taken them up on the "remote my Linux pc".
Could have had some fun at there expense.
Beware,
Telstra or Microsoft will NOT call you saying you have internet software problems on your pc.

They have called me three or four times in the past two weeks.
I always play along - first they want me to press the Windows key on my keyboard...I tell them I don't have that key. They danced around for a few minutes then I get transfered to another person.
After ten minutes of this game the third person finally said "Why are you wasting my time?" and he hung up the phone.

Those boys don't give up - hung up with them 10 minutes ago!
Time to set up a Linux/Snort/Windows VM/proxy honeypot. Suggestions on how you would set one up?
