It's a shame you're not going to use the solution since it was kind of a pain in the a** to post, but what the hell, at least everyone is happy with what they have
I'm now working on finding a patched KbdMgr.exe file which eliminates the audio latency issue and is compatible with Windows 7 x64
Nothing personal. Really appreciate the effort.
I think the best solution for me is to wait until they "officially" support Windows 7 and it works without tweaking.
I'm still using Nod32 and I am a little concerned at some of the recent reviews I have read concerning the ESET firewall as well. Comodo has received some pretty excellent reviews. Just as I won't use the Comodo anti virus as Nod32 has much, much better reviews as well.
H3LL Y3AH!!! been using it for years(5) updating to the latest version my pocket can get.... rock solid, light on the system, no lag while scanning(even full scan), stops everything..... BTW... since everything is USB based... i recommend USB security to +...
Hey Igster, that can't be right as I just two days ago formatted my HD and replaced Windows 7 x86 with x64. I then installed Comodo to test and hated it. I unistalled that and then installed ESS x64 and could not access the shares. Followed the same instructions as I had left for you and magic
Make sure you are following the instructions to a T and that you have no other firewalls/AVs installed/running.
Worse case scenario, let me know and I will send you screenshots of all of my settings, but literally everything other than what I laid out, I had left at default. Only thing I can possibly think of, is that we are using different versions of Windows. I'm using the RTM.
I was pretty sure I followed your settings to a T. If you want to post screen shots, go ahead and I will try again. It got a little blurry around #5. I'm pretty sure I had it set right, but still could not get the other system to access the shared folder without disabling the firewall entirely.
And no, I don't have any other firewalls or anti virus products running. Windows firewall was disabled as well, even though it does not block shared folder access at all.
Oh and look left...I'm using the RTM.
