Not all "sorts", no. I'm yet to meet anybody who vouches for TM or Mcaffee, these 2 are universally hated AFAIK. But if it works for you, thats good enough.

I'm still doing some research before I make any final decisions. I used to use McAfee, the 2009 version, and it wasn't that great. Got me infected DAYS after I bought it.

As an avast! Internet Security user, you know what you'll get from me. That being said, it's the lightest AV/firewall suite that I have ever used. It has outstanding protection, but the best feature is that you can sandbox your browser when you hit the web. You can choose the option to still be able to download software outside of the sandbox to a location of your choice.................Virtualization is the best protection.

You can also do a custom install, and install only the shields that pertain to you. I don't IM or do P2P, so I didn't install those shields. Also, I use web based mail (Yahoo!) so I didn't install the mail shield either. I hate gadgets and the WebRep browser add-on, so I left those out too............You get the idea.

Hmm, yea I get it. Does it have a web guard? Ex. does it show you results in a search engine for each result?

It has a Web shield, File shield (the backbone), Network shield, Script shield and Behavior shield. (those are what's installed on my machine). The WebRep browser add-on thingy, will give you results from other avast! users on your searches (like WOT). I prefer Norton SafeSearch as it's not a community based opinion of a website, but rather a security based opinion. I set it as my default search engine in Chrome.

Also, since it looks like you're worried about security, I would recommend Norton DNS. It doesn't install on your machine, it takes no system resources and it's free. From what I've seen, Norton DNS blocks about 40% of malicious websites (maybe a low estimation), so that is 4 out of 10 bad websites that your antivirus never has to even see. That makes even the worst AV better.

Some say that Norton DNS is faster then your ISP's DNS, some say it's slower. For me, I see no change for the better or worse. It's really a no-brainer.

I don't think you mentioned which AV you have installed right now, but make sure you use the manufactures clean up tool after you uninstall it through the programs and features panel. Don't use software like Revo Uninstaller to remove an antivirus. Do it from programs and features, then reboot, then to make sure it's all gone, run the uninstall tool per the manufacturer's directions. Some require safe mode, some don't. Then and only then, can you install your new AV.
