been using the new kaspersky for a few days now, and i'm happy to say that i'm liking it quite a lot.

i noticed the old one would spike my cpu quite often - this new one doesn't seem to and uses less ram too. :)

i do have one minor problem with it though - i don't have the im component enabled, as i don't use any of the messaging clients that kis protects, so the home screen keeps telling me that my 'computer security is at risk'. with the old version i could chose to ignore this 'problem' and kis wouldn't bug me about it any more - i can't find that option in kis2012.

    Attachment 166565

i would recomend all current 2011 owners to step into the future and freely upgrade to 2012 - you don't need a new license!
Hmmmm just turn it on Mickey I mean even if you don't use the sites what are you going to lose - bit like having a spare in the boot of your car - its there even if you never need it or on the odd occasion use them eh?

Hiyya Coke robot been using KIS since 2010 version and hey never had a thing go wrong never had any nasties (might have been lucky I guess) but there again I have a good config setup for it done by a chap who is so on the ball.

    Mate wouldn't have anything else

Forgot KIS has a an extra year offer on at the moment down under for the price of a one year!!
The biggest problem I've seen with KIS is not any shortcoming in it's level of security but it's ability to suddenly go insane and start blocking basically everything on the system including core processes and services.

Granted I haven't seen it lately but around the first of the year when I first started here it seemed like 1 in 5 bsod's I checked were kapersky related.

    Jeez

Mate I reckon you must have done something really nasty in a past life - I've never had a problem.

?Weren't running any other AV's were you cos I know K does go ape if you do although it doesn't mind Malwarebytes as long as you untick like I have here.

I'm not talking about me personally I don't use an active av at all, I use something called commonsense and a plugin called noscript for my browser.
I haven't picked up anything in years.
The problems I'm talking about were what I was seeing in MANY people. In fact I would have to say just antiviruses in general are the most common cause of bsod errors we see on this site.

    Yeah your'e right

Yeah Magu I suppose it really does depend on what one does on the machine I see many of my workmates who do some quite reckless stuff using their machines.

Me I just stick to the forums and the odd foray into Ebay for stuff I don't really want he he!! Just a born hoarder I guess I think being relatively unwealthy when younger hate waste and suspicious of everything now.
