Remove AVG. Install and use the only AV that I use, I install and I recommend, namely, Microsoft Security Essentials. Link in my sig.

I had mse installed when all of this started. I had to have help unistalling it. I had to clean the registry of it just to get rid of its error codes. Its all finally gone. I didn't have AVG when all of this first started. Scannow didn't find anything at all.

ok removed avg, tried downloading a song from amazon. IE will delete it as soon as it downloads. So I tried it with Firefox. It downloads to their amazon cloud player. I tried downloading it from the cloud player. It asks where to download it to. I designate my music folder. A window comes up asking me if I will allow the cloud player to download this file. I allow it, it downloads it and then deletes it. I searched for the song and it isn't there. What a bummer. With or without AVG IE is deleting anything I download.

You can avoid some of your download problems by making Firefox your default browser.

I'm not an IE expert, but my guess is that somehow IE has gotten messed up.

I do not know if it will help, but you might try creating a system restore point (safety measure), then go to this site and using firefox, download IE 9. Close firefox and run the IE 9 installer.

I did this but would still like a better answer. I am wondering if there could be another problem. Will keep you updated to see what happens. I will try downloading something else in IE9.

I still need help with this. I have no antivirus now, I am running on IE9. Something is still deleting what I try to download. No matter what it is. Would having windows defender running and your firewall on at the same time make windows defender scan your downloads and delete them? Please help. Read earlier posts to understand whats going on.
