Been using pre-release ver5 for a couple of months now. Everyone will be very pleased with this new version, it is a good improvement to an already good program. A Guy

I just downloaded it today and it is a very big improvement to the other version. The biggest thing I noticed about it (besides the GUI) was the fact that when you run a scan, it scans the registry, your memory, and your files all at one time, which dramatically improves the speed of the scan. Quick scans used to take me anywhere from an 20- 40 minutes; now they're only about 8 minutes. I'm very pleased so far! :)

Something I have noticed with version 5 that is different from the latest version 4 that I had.

4 would always find tracking cookies, and some things that after cleaning, the OS needed a re-boot, but so far with 5 it finds nothing??

And, does anyone know what 'Enable rescue scan' means or how it is supposed to work?

SAS Free stopped finding tracking cookies for me a while ago. It was like one day it found them while doing a Quick Scan and the next day nothing. A Full Scan was better but still not finding as many as it should.

Support for SAS Free is pretty nonexistent. The response I got was along the lines of uninstall/reinstall (no change) and tracking cookies aren't dangerous. Huh? I want to know why the program stopped finding them not your view on how dangerous they are.

I still run the program but based on this change to how it functions I question its effectiveness. I plan to move to 5.0 soon. I guess I now know it still won't be finding those tracking cookies. CCleaner finds them for me.

    Well said!

Version 4 would regularly find twenty to thirty trackers, now, nada!

The new interface is nice. The only thing it found on its 1st scan was a FP in an Auslogic Registry Defragmenter uninstaller that has been on my system for more than two years.
I give it a 2.5 out of 5 star rating

Funny, SAS has never found tracking cookies on my systems. Maybe because I don't keep cookies, and CCleaner cleans what there might be. A Guy
