Yea i tried that tool but when i run it , all it does is extract and thats it, it just stops after that.
So your antivirus software is all updated? windows update usually updates MSE, check if there are any updates for it. Failing that, try to reinstall it (or any other Antivirus software for that matter).

oh ok, the only problem is as i said earlier i do not have any cd's/usbs and i dont have a windows install disk because my cheap@$$ manufacturer was too cheap to include one with my laptop. All they gave me was a recovery partition.
Sorry about that I must have missed that in the early posts. About HP, well I symphatize with you..also did not get any installation cd with mine and the service is so so...gave me the run around and even insisted I what I was doing was wrong even if the procedure I followed strictly came from them. Switched to Lenovo then Dell.

Some links here from HP tech support. Might wanna check it out:

I hope you find the solution you need for your laptop. Well, if I may add(at your leisure), do take into consideration an imaging software and external hdd. So if ever you need to revert to a clean system image it will be just minutes away.

    Goodluck :)
