    My bad more info.

OST File - Know All About Exchange / Outlook OST Files
    What is OST file?

OST is the abbreviated form of Offline Storage Table files of MS Outlook. Offline folders allow the users to work offline i.e. in the absence of Exchange Server and then synchronize the changes later when they connect with the Exchange Server. The capability of working offline, that these OST files offer, is ideal for environments having limited or unreliable network connectivity. This feature of OST files allows a user to work in Server downtime situations too.

It is not unusual for Avast to be unable to scan certain files. What is the full status error? It's cut off in your screenshot. You can also copy the full path and upload the file to Virus Total for a scan if you are concerned. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. A Guy

well i just ran another scan and it had the same pop up with the rest of my emails that are part of my outlook set up.
I want to delete the files as im hardly ever not connected to the internet.

I didn't have this problem when i was using windows live mail 2011

    Hi,

I've used Avast before and also still use Outlook2010, but I've never seen this.

Is Outlook open whilst you are doing the scan?

There is nothing wrong. Avast just won't scan them.

If memory serves the drop menu in the bottom right corner has a selection to skip scanning these files.
Next time this window won't come up after the scan.

I had to do the same on mine.
    The files are safe.
Outlook made these new ones after the email was received.
The original emails were scanned when you received them.

Is this a quick, full or custom scan?

    Hi,

If you close and exit Outlook completely, do you get the same messages if you then perform the scan?
