    how to disable download scanning?

I am trying to download something I know is safe and from a professional company (Autodesk) from their own website.

Windows 7 keeps stopping the download and telling me the publisher can't be verified and is unsafe.

How do I stop this? I reset the security to medium, and scrolled through the internet options, but didnt see anything about this particularly.

    Any ideas?

If you are certain that the update is safe, disable UAC for this update only while you download it.

You could also try downloading it in Safe Mode as well.

I turned UAC off the second windows was installed. Never thought about downloading it Safe mode. Isn't there a way just to disable it checking the publisher.

I just tried downloading in safe mode. Still didn't work.

    This is very frustrating.

Well, I just downloaded a different program from the exact same site....and it worked. No issues. Weird. But I really need that electrical program.

    Is this an active-x thing?

    Anyone have any other suggestions?

You could try another browser such as Chrome or FireFox. They don't have this issue.

Have you tried 'saving' it to your downloads? After downloaded, then right click on the app to run as administrator.

I have been trying the "save as" method regularly, and it stops my download before it can complete.

And no, I only have IE9 installed, and plan to keep it that way. Is there any other alternative?

Is it possible that the problem is not yours/IE9? That the problem is a bad/not working link from the company? Do they have a tech or customer support team that could send you an alternate download link or a zipped install package?

In the alternative, have you tried uninstalling IE9 and try the download using the Windows 7 default IE8?

How do I install or uninstall Internet Explorer 9?
