# Windows 7: Windows Firewall Authorization Driver - not present, not working, etc

04 Sep 2011 #51 Jacee Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit SP1 8,759 posts You have several toolbars that may be intercepting IE ... so let's get rid of them. Please run OTL. EXE again Under the Custom Scans/Fixes, at the bottom, copy and paste in the following Code: :otl IE - HKLM\..\URLSearchHook: {7b13ec3e-999a-4b70-b9cb-2617b8323822} - Reg Error: Key error. 05 Sep 2011 #54 boweasel Windows 7 home premium 64 bit 648 posts Yes, I did. However I can no longer get to the internet with that PC. After the custom fix I shut it down, and when it rebooted I have no network connections. I ran the network troubleshooter on my network adfapter, and it ran, without conclusion, all night, just reading 'detecting problems'. My System Specs
05 Sep 2011 #55 boweasel Windows 7 home premium 64 bit 648 posts I cannot even get System Restore to pop-up - I tried accessing it through Accessoriers/System Tools, but it just gave me the blue circle for 30 seconds, then nothing. Ditto for running rstrui from the run box as an administrator. My System Specs
05 Sep 2011 #56 Jacee Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit SP1 8,759 posts Check to make sure you don't have a Proxy enabled 1) Under “Tools” in the browser tool bar select “Internet Options”. 2) In the “Internet Options” window that pops up, click the “Connections” tab at the top. 3) Click “LAN Settings” near the bottom of the “Connections” section. 4) If the “Proxy server” checkbox is marked with a check, click it to deselect/uncheck it. 5) Click “Ok” to close the “Local Area Network (LAN) Settings” window. 6) Click “Ok” to close the “Internet Options” window. Reboot Make sure "Proxy server" is still disabled under your LAN Settings. Test whether internet connectivity is restored. My System Specs
05 Sep 2011 #57 boweasel Windows 7 home premium 64 bit 648 posts Will check that out as soon as I can. I ran netsh winsock reset as an admin, and it wants me to shut down. It's been shutting down for 11 minutes now. And I have to leave the house for a few hours. I will leave this in the 'shutting down' screen and, hopefully it will have actually shut down when I return. The inability to get to restore does concern me... The damn thing WAS running really good before this last round of changes. Perhaps the removal and return of IE9 took care of those 403 forbidden problems? I don't know. Uh, oh......BSOD - DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE Restarted. Still no access. 'Use a proxy sever' IS NOT checked. Gotta leave... My System Specs
05 Sep 2011 #58 Jacee Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit SP1 8,759 posts DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE -->What is the file path and code? Do you have HijackThis! on the computer? If you do, please run a scan, save it and post the log. My System Specs
05 Sep 2011 #59 boweasel Windows 7 home premium 64 bit 648 posts Okay.... pretty much a false alarm. Apparently late last night somebody partially dislodged the power cord for the router. Although I'm not using this Win7 laptop wirelessly, I am connected to an ethernet cable coming from the router. Why that should have impacted System Restore is unknown, but at any rate everything is running fine just now. Would you like me to run OTL again? And with what settings? And what about the date parameter? My System Specs
05 Sep 2011 #60 Jacee Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit SP1 8,759 posts No, don't run OTL. I want you to upload this file --> C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\vmntemplate to VirSCAN.org - Free Multi-Engine Online Virus Scanner v1.02, Supports 37 AntiVirus Engines! and have it scanned. Save the report, then copy/paste it back here. You will have to unhide hidden files and folders to find it. Then, I'd like to see a RSIT log ....Download random's system information RSIT http://images.malwareremoval.com/random/RSIT.exe It is important that is saved to your desktop. Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT. Click Continue at the disclaimer screen. Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<
